Winter School 2009-2010
The successful line of seminars in the Winter School 2008-09 was replicated in 2009-2010 within the subject:
"Bioactive Compounds in Food"
The purpose of the Winter School 2009-2010 was to get a common understanding of the area bioactive compounds in food and to identify needs and focus of further research and cooperation. Active participation granted 2 ECTS points as the Winter School was approved as a Ph.D. course at the Technical University of Denmark.
Six seminars took place from September 2009 until March 2010:
- September 29 2009: Cancer risk: Increase or reduction? The role of bioactive compounds in food
- November 3 2009: Overview of the field of bioactive compounds
- December 1 2009: Mechanisms of action
- January 12 2010: Documentation of effects including analyses and methods for clinical trials
- February 9 2010: Various foods as source of bioactive compounds
- March 9 2010: Potential for prevention of diseases
