A 3-year project with focus on development of tasty and health promoting foods and economic growth in the food sector!
Elite within foods, nutrition and health
Healthy Growth and Øresund Food will contribute to bringing the Capital Region in Denmark and the Øresund region of Denmark and Sweden into the elite within foods, nutrition and health by the year 2015. The 3-year funding for Healthy Growth (2008-2011) originates from the European Regional Development Fund and Vækstforum in the Capital Region of Denmark.
A tasty cooperation
The prime focus for Healthy Growth is to increase the cooperation between universities and other knowledge institutions, companies and health authorities in order to promote innovation, knowledge exchange and economic growth. The activities in Healthy Growth will evolve around developing tasty and health promoting foods, and will contribute to optimally exploit the competencies within research institutes and companies in the food, medico and biotech/pharma sectors.
Focus areas
Ph.D. projects – Healthy Growth partly supports Ph.D. projects with active company participation. The projects must focus on food, nutrition and health, and development of tasty and health promoting foods. Three application rounds have taken place from 2008 - 2010 and in total seven Ph.D. projects have been granted funds. Education courses – Healthy Growth supports development of company oriented further and supplementary educational courses that focus on food, nutrition and health and economic growth. Five applications have been granted funds to develop educational courses.
Maturation of knowledge – Healthy Growth supports maturation of knowledge that aims at commercial exploitation of knowledge and/or more obliging cooperation between companies, universities and other knowledge institutions. Three knowledge maturation projects have so far been granted funds. Information about the (closed) calls can be obtained by contacting the Healthy Growth secretariat.
Networks and network activities – Healthy Growth will encourage and support network activities related to the themes food, nutrition & health and development of tasty and health promoting foods. Keep yourself updated under "Projects", “News” and "Events".
