Food + Pharma = Unlimited Health
The project "Food + Pharma = Unlimited Health" was an Interreg IIIA funded project from 2006-2007. The project functioned in the Øresund region as a collaboration between Øresund Food and Medicon Valley Alliance.
The overall purpose of Unlimited Health was to expand the growth centre of the Øresund Region, increase cooperation between the food and medicine sector, and hereby work at the borderline of these two areas.
A number of focus areas networking across the food and medicine sector and across Øresund started up in order to establish creative and innovative meeting forums for the many competencies within Food and Pharma sectors in the region (ex. from universities, hospitals, industries, authorities and health care system). The focus areas were:
- Undernutrition
- Obesity
- Probiotics
- Prebiotics
- Human Testing of Foods
- Phospholipids.
Through these focus areas the goal was to achieve networking, exchange of experiences, research cooperation and that the region will become regionally and internationally visible with respect to being a leading knowledge centre on the Food and Pharma area.
Unlimited Health offered practical assistance and financial means with respect to coordination, planning, administration and communication, among this conducting conferences, seminars, workshops etc. within the focus areas.
The project Unlimited Health ended in spring 2008 but many of the activities are carried on in the project "Healthy Growth" funded by the European Regional Development Fund and Vækstforum Region Hovedstaden (2008-2011).
