Focus areas
Children's Best Table supports the interests of children in questions related to food and meal situations within six areas: Food Producers, Restaurant & Café, School, Home, Nature, and Physical Activities/Sport.

Food producers
We want to show children how food is connected from farm to table and to help food producers, large and small, to identify synergies and develop concepts or products that are tailored to the needs of children.
In collaboration with local businesses, food producers and chefs, we are designing creative and child-friendly activities for school children and families. In this way, we increase awareness of, and interest in, food and cooking in children, while we market participating companies.

Restaurant & Café
We have, with children’s help, found out what their perfect restaurant visit looks like. Based on this research and in consultation with leading chefs, we have created a certification system for restaurants, which will be implemented in Swedish eateries in collaboration with Sweden's Best Tables in 2011.
In doing so we not only make it easier for families but also give restaurants a chance to, with limited resources, attract an audience that enjoys eating out and has the economy to do so.

School
We want all school classes to learn more about cooking and different culinary cultures in a playful and easy way. We have talked with hundreds of children to understand what kinds of food activities they like to participate in, during and after school, to develop concepts now being implemented in participating municipalities’ classes.

Home
On various web forums and sites, we provide children and their parents with practical knowledge and tips on all the great things you can do with food. Together with Skåne restaurants, chefs, local governments and businesses, we offer fun holiday and leisure activities for children and their families.

Nature
By creating activities in connection with local businesses within the green industry, we illustrate the relationship between nature and meals in a practical way. Activities may include berry- or mushroom-picking outings or an apple safari, where children learn how to prepare and cook at home.

Physical activities/Sport
With Scania Sport and Båstad Municipality, we are getting children to see food and eating as a natural part of the context of physical activity – be it organized athletics, a spontaneous game of football or hours of swimming in the ocean.
