Sweden's first children-approved restaurant certified!
On March 7, 2011 the restaurant Sand in Båstad was approved by the Children's Best Table test patrol, becoming Sweden's first, guaranteed child-approved restaurant.
Children's Best Table offers a guarantee of quality based on what children age 7-12 are actually looking for when they eat out. The concept is unique in the sense that it is implemented using actual children and their parents, and builds on criteria developed in collaboration with children, teachers, chefs and scientists.
For almost two years 700 7-12-year-olds' expectations, needs and requests regarding food and meals at cafes, restaurants and at home have been studied. The certification system was secretly launched in spring 2011 in cooperation with Foundation of Sweden's Best Tables, and began in Båstad, where Marcus Bengtsson at Hotel Skansen received the first diploma after a critical children's panel evaluated the food, menu and service.
