A tradition has begun - successful conference on resveratrol

Resveratrol2010, the first International conference of resveratrol and health was a great success with more than 150 participants from 25 different countries and with high scientific level resulting in a range of publications and recommendations for the future resveratrol research globally.

Resveratrol2010 was co-organised by Øresund Food, and it took place 13-16 September 2010 in Elsinore, Denmark. Apart from displaying a comprehensive scientific program the conference proved a unique opportunity to get connected with other stakeholders in the area of resveratrol. The conference material, including the program, submitted abstracts, presented posters and the video recording of the talks will be available at www.resveratrol2010.com.

A scientific working group met on September 16 to discuss the scientific evidence for actual recommendations for resveratrol use, as well as the future focus for resveratrol research. The resume and conclusion from this meeting will be published in “Annals of the New York Academy of Science” in a near future, together with articles by the invited speakers at the conference.

For now, we are awaiting results from human trials on resveratrol in order to know more about the real character of the bioactive compound resveratrol.
