Main usages of the Chest button¶

When Pepper is off¶

Action	To ...	Effect
Press once	Get IP address, and Read notifications	The robot says its name and IP address. Tips: If the status LEDs are blinking, Pepper also reads the pending . Event and state notifications IP address is hard to understand? On the third request, Pepper will slow down and spell digit by digit the address.
Press again	Skip a message	While the robot is saying its IP address or a notification message, pressing again interrupts the current message and jumps to the next one if any.
Press twice	Set off and on Stiffness and Life	If on: the robot sight, goes to a resting posture and turns the Stiffness off. If off: the robot pushes a happy grunt, goes to a standing posture and turns the Stiffness on.
Press and hold for 3 seconds.	Shut down	Caution: for this action, make sure the robot is in a safe position, or he may fall. For more details, see: Understanding the shut down process.

Press and hold for 8 seconds	Request a Forced switch off	Caution: for this action, make sure the robot is in a safe position, or he may fall. the Chest Button becomes Green, The robot says “GNUK GNUK”, The tactile-head and ear LEDs fade quickly. Forced switch off is not recommended in normal use.
