mClusters
In 2006, Øresund IT undertook an extensive study of the mobile climate in the Øresund Region under the title “mWatch 2006” as part of the mClusters European network.
The mClusters project brings together groups of advanced users of ICT from industry and academia. The project puts emphasis on the effectiveness in clustering of competencies related to mobile ICT, especially technology that cuts across sectors through a variety of new, comprehensive, and user-oriented applications.
The mClusters project was developed to measure the innovative climate within mobile and wireless technology in a number of regions in Europe, and is hosted by Interlace Invent.
Mobile Readiness of Øresund
As part of this project, we covered the examination of the region by looking at the three major cities Copenhagen, Malmö and Lund to measure the mobile readiness of the Øresund Region. A comprehensive and comparative study was conducted based on a Mobile Readiness Index; which was the index used to measure 21 cities and regions in Europe.
Øresund - a Leading Mobile Solution Region
The mWatch report showed that Øresund has a highly attractive mobile climate. We are particularly good at introducing new innovations and conducting R&D within the field. The evidence is available in a strong educational infrastructure, international players and a tradition for entrepreneurial establishment supported by science parks and incubators.
The Øresund Region is among the five most prominent regions in Europe when it comes to developing and using services for mobiles and wireless devices.
The Øresund Region in Top
