Øresund IT Update

Øresund IT is in cooperation with Invest in Skåne and Copenhagen Capacity promoting the unique skills within the ICT sector in the region.

Through the Øresund IT Update cooperation the strength of the Øresund Region is marketed both regionally and globally. The ultimate goal is to strengthen the Øresund Region's position as one of the world's most important growth regions within ICT.

Øresund Region - Major Scandinavian ICT Cluster
Øresund is the cross border region that combines the southern part of Sweden and the eastern part of Denmark entailing Copenhagen. The ICT sector in Øresund is the largest in Scandinavia and one of the top three in Europe; with a vast amount of researcher working within high potential areas like micro- and nanotechnology, mobile and wireless technology.

The concentration of innovation centres ensures that the region moves in the frontline within research; and the businesses as well as the people in Øresund are heavy users of new technology.

Human-Tech Region
Øresund is a Human-Tech region. This means that the human dimension is a central issue in both development and use of information technology.

In Øresund people are open minded and hold no prejudices in the use of technology; there is no fear of developing or using the technology in unconventional ways, either alone or in combination with e.g. the medical business leaving ample space for improvements; improvements that could be of use in the future.
