Obducat
Lithography in the nano scale
Obducat's products are a proof that nanotechnology is not only stuff of science fiction. The company's portfolio includes a unique tool, the Nano Imprint Lithography (NIL), that enables mass-production of extremely fine patterns. The tool extends the limits of lithography, a key technology for the production of integrated circuits.
Besides the semiconductors industry, there are a number of other candidates for application of the imprinting system, like information storage and biosensors. In the case of storage, for example, a challenge is presented if there is need for storing an inexhaustible amount of data on computer hard discs. With NIL, it should be possible to pattern the surface of a disc and stretch the storage capacity from 40 GBbit/sq.inch to the 100 GBbit/sq.inch range.
Obducat develops and supplies technologies and processes for production and analysis of micro and nano structures. The company also provides solutions to companies working with information storage, semiconductors, printed circuit boards, and sensors. Based in Malmö, Obducat has 60 employees in Sweden, the UK, and the USA.
