Education planning
Education is essential in order to secure regional effects of ESS and MAX, and it is pivotal that all relevant university decision makers are aware of the potential uses of neutrons and synchrotron radiation in their research fields.
Since November 2010, Copenhagen University has been working to map study programs and engage Danish department heads. From mid-2011, Lund University has started a parallel track in close collaboration with Copenhagen University. The mapping extends to Roskilde University Centre, Technical University of Denmark and Malmö University among others.
As of October 2011 a number of working groups will be established with representatives from the partnering universities. The working groups will target challenges and seek to fulfill the promises for future collaboration uncovered by the mapping.
In 2012, ØMIC will host a summer school on neutron spallation. The program is in the planning process. The working groups will be engaged in planning the summer school.
