The smallest Bluetooth mobile phone headset

Nextlink.to has made it even harder to distinguish if a person who is apparently talking alone is a techno-nerd or a lunatic. The company has developed BlueSpoon, which is the world’s smallest wireless mobile phone headset. The tiny headset weighs only 10 g and both its speaker and microphone are inside the unit, which is hidden in the user's ear. Vibrations from speech are transmitted directly through the jawbone and picked up by the microphone.

Bluespoon, developed by Nextlink.to, is the smallest Bluetooth mobile headsetThe result is no visible microphone, and no wired connection to a phone. As Nextlink.to puts it, users can hear and speak with the ears. The BlueSpoon resembles a translucent blue gumball and communicates with the phone by Bluetooth signals.

Several of Nextlink.to’s engineers previously worked in the hearing aid industry, which helps to explain their success in developing BlueSpoon. Based in Gentofte, Greater Copenhagen, Nextlink.to has worked with Bluetooth since 1999 and performs research and development within audio technologies, DSP, wireless software/hardware platforms and speech recognition.
