Now Microsoft Development Center Copenhagen

Microsoft found in the Øresund Region the perfect partner for its plans to expand its global share of the small and mid-size market of ERP applications. Navision is a leading global provider of integrated software solutions for small and medium-sized businesses and its acquisition by Microsoft, announced in May 2002, was a strong evidence of the region’s outstanding capability in software development.

NavisionWith the acquisition, Navision has become part of Microsoft's Business Solutions division. The company’s corporate headquarters in Vedbaek, Greater Copenhagen, will become the centre of development and operations for Microsoft in Europe, the Middle East and Africa - the largest product development centre that Microsoft has outside the United States.

Navision was acquired at an amount of approximately US$ 1.45 billion, which was Microsoft's second largest deal, topping even the purchase of Great Plains, Navision’s former competitor in the USA. Navision’s software solutions have achieved reputation for robustness and excellent customisation capabilities. They are sold through an extensive network of approximately 2,400 partners. Worldwide, the company has sold more than 136,000 solutions.
