About us
The overall idea of creating a logistical platform for the Femern [1] Belt region is to establish multiple strong networks of cooperation in the logistics sector or related sectors on both sides of the belt. The way this particular platform enables this is through analysis of business development opportunities and through cooperation between businesses, educational institutions and the public sector within the region of Zealand and the Femern Belt region.
The nature of this kind of cooperation is widely known as the triple-helix model.
Femern Belt Logistics aims at coordinating activities together with existing players and to utilize synergies through working towards mutual goals. Furthermore, the platform is intended to create new projects in areas where the logistics cluster has obvious strengths and opportunities for growth or where increased action is needed in order to stay competitive.
The three major focal points of the platform are:
- Creation of triple-helix networks – in the regions of Zealand and Northern Germany.
- Identification of possibilities and challenges for the logistics cluster and through this facilitation of a regional action plan for the sector.
- Initiate cooperation in thematic areas where there are special opportunities or needs hereunader promoting innovation and increasing the regional competency levels.
The realization of above mentioned will be through a wide circle of interested parties all with relations to logistics and transport for instance through training courses and education, match-making, conferences, seminars, innovation projects etc.
The target group for the platform primarily consists of players from Region Zealand and the Femern Belt region. However, focus on creating relations with Region Skåne and the Hamburg region will also be included in order to look at the region in a larger perspective with the aim of matching competences and complementary competences to give the platform a strong foothold.
All of the above to ensure that the connection - when ready in 2020 - will be the logi(sti)cal gateway to and from the continent!
