Strengthening the
Øresund ICT cluster
Øresund Science Region: € 67 million funding
Over the past five years this staggering amount of funding is the result of the focused funding work by the Øresund Science Region. Øresund IT's CEO, Micael Gustafsson comments on the success.
Organisations and interest groups are often criticized not to generate enough value but results showing that the Øresund Science Region has managed to collect € 67 million over a period of five years is quite a contrast to that critique.
"Studies usually argue that cluster organisations do not generate results until ten years of operation. Our advance has mainly taken place in the last two years. In Øresund Science Region we have landed a great deal of all regional EU Interreg projects within this period" says Micael Gustafsson, CEO of Øresund IT.
These projects are Living Labs Øresund, Innovation Circle, IT Update amongst others, and most recently the IT marketing project of the Øresund ICT cluster through the project; BrandIT.
BrandIT is a € 3 million, 3-year project, set to spread the word and the interest of investments and partnerships in the Øresund ICT cluster. The project is managed by Øresund IT and has a number of partners consisting of universities, organisations and public institutes from the region. This Thursday, March 11, Øresund Science Region presents its new brand and logo at its spectacular 10 years anniversary event at Crown Plaza in Ørestad. The new profile does not change the goal of keeping up the pace and continuously work on brining money back to the region.
