New Øresund profile. Enhanced contents. And a major anniversary to mark it!
Posted: March 15, 2010 by Daniel Vámosi Martinussen
As an initiative to underline the strong coalition behind Øresund Org and to enhance the understanding of this powerful platform, a new shared profile has emerged and been revealed…

As you by reading this news article can see, our packaging has changed. Hopefully it is now obvious to anyone what and who constitutes the organization Øresund Org, previously known as Øresund Science Region.
To design and thereby express our enhanced identity, creator and graphics designer Kicki Persson had to start by understanding the organisation:
"What I saw when I looked at the organisation was a huge network, a powerful engine, a dynamic bank of knowledge, two countries and great diversity – all gathered under a single roof. The “ball of people”-symbol is a way to visualise this." says Kicki Persson of Cortez.
On the basis of thoughts and intentions behind the transformation it is our hope that our users will benefit from this strengthened bridge between our true identity and our external profile.
#10i10y
The timing of our profile launch was by no means random. This year we are celebrating the 10 year birthday of the Øresund Bridge binding together the Øresund Region. In numerous ways the anniversary of the bridge marks a decade of improved infrastructure, growth, integration, educations, research, partnerships, business opportunities etc. for our region. Especially the last couple of years we have seen the figures develop very positively in many of these areas.
Obviously we cannot just kick back and relax, which is why we named the anniversary after our future goals. 10 workshops was prepared for the event to initiate debates and ideas to further develop our region within 10 areas over the next 10 years:
- Living Labs
- Hi Tech Health Food
- Fossil Free Øresund Region
- Education & Growth
- Nanostructures in Life Science
- Creating World Excellence
- Intelligent Logistics
- NanoFood
- Public Private Partnerships
- Climate and Consumption
In the nearest future you will be able to follow how we will draw up what we created at these workshops and how these formulations will further develop into specific goals.
The ICT aspect
At Øresund IT we are currently very engaged in getting the citizens involved in our work. At our general assembly, on the morning of the 10i10y event, a proposition to include a representative from the Øresund citizens on the board of Øresund IT was passed. Precisely how this constellation called the Quadruple Helix will evolve and take place is something we will keep you posted on later.
At the venue of the 10i10y event in Ørestad, Copenhagen, we had been looking for innovation and interaction to influence the day, which was why we came up with a live Twitter feed for the day.
Positioned on a large wall at one side of the ball room two great screens would feed the audience with any tweet marked with a #10i10y meaning that anyone from the inside or outside (that means anywhere in the world!) of the event could share quotes, statements or comments live. An initiative that many chose to utilize and, which gave the word to anyone who was not on stage but wanted to be heard.
