The award has now been presented for the third time now and, according to Microsoft, is an essential opportunity to put focus on those companies and employees who excel on a daily basis.

IDA proves unusually ambitious by aiming to be "Among the best in the world in regarding support of business oriented processes in an administrative service company" as they put it.

"IDA aims very high and are very ambitious but do not neglect their pragmatic motto: We need to be a little better tomorrow than yesterday" says Jørgen Bardenfleth, CEO, Microsoft Denmark, member of the jury for the award.

Another member of the jury is Jacob Flink, Consultant for Rambøll, and he also describes IDA's ability to distinguish themselves on a very basic level:

"The essential part of IDA's success is their ability to utilize the IT department, where the team, on a very basic level, has been able to understand the processes of the individual departments"

"They have successfully taken on that role and skillfully offered their competences actively and thereby become the link between the various departments of the association," he finishes.

The award was accompanied by a cheque of DKK 25.000 and gratitude to all contestants who, as Microsoft puts it:

"We are pleased to see specific examples of so many IT professionals who make an effort to contribute positively to the country's companies day after day."

Okay - now I'm caught up and you won't have to deal with a slew of coemmnts from me! I read The Color Purple and it was by far the most powerful (and disturbing) book I've read this year. It won the Pulitzer and was nominated for a National Book Award in the early 80s.Thanks for hosting! It's really gotten me to read books I never would have picked up on my own.
