Sustainable Building in the Øresund Region

The primary purpose of the project is to investigate how existing experience from previous sustainable building projects can be utilised in the vast building and many projects, currently going on. In that sense, there will be made use of past experience from sustainable building in the Øresund Region, and sustainable building will be further developed.

The project will gather already existing experience from building projects, such as Bo01 and Västra Hamnen in Malmö, Sweden, and the Ørestad in Copenhagen, Denmark. The next step is then to communicate this experience to others doing the same line of work – contractors, advisors, entrepreneurs – in the shape of seminars, workshops, networks and articles in relevant media. This will be done with the purpose of furthering the implementation of many visionary building projects that have a focus on sustainability and an environmental concern.

As one of its goals, the project pertains to get an increased international focus on the Danish-Swedish competencies within research and practical experience in sustainable building.

Strategic area:

Optimisation of resources and design for the environment

Primary project participants:

  • The Øresund Environment
  • Malmö Stad
  • Copenhagen Municipal
  • Lund Municipal

  • Agenda Centre Valby

Øresund Environment has facilitated and coordinated the development of the project, and will be part of the dissemination of the project results.
