Øresund IT receives award from the European Commission

Wednesday March 16 the closing conference of the EU initiative Achieve More was held in Brussels, Belgium. Achieve More is about interregional cooperation and transfer of best practices especially in ICT field. Aside from presentation of the results, the prize for extraordinary cluster work was awarded to the CEO of Øresund IT, Micael Gustafsson.

The prize is awarded by EBN (European Business & Innovation Centre Network) and as motivation for the recognition of Øresund IT the Head of International Projects, Robert Sanders says:

- During 2010 Øresund IT has worked very focused on how to use their extensive international network to boost the incubators in the Øresund Region and assist SMEs in their internationalization process. This has given a number of measurable results in particularly in terms of new cooperation agreements, and the Achieve More Network has therefore decided to give an Achievement Award for this outstanding and progressive cluster work with bringing established businesses and start-ups closer together.

Øresund IT is glad to receive the prize – not least because it indicates that the organization’s new focus after the restructuring of the Øresund Science Region, has hit the mark among stakeholders of the ICT cluster.

- This Achieve Award proves to me that the work we do at Øresund IT is recognized and appreciated on a European level which we are proud of. We continuously work to optimize the conditions for SMEs and start-ups in the Øresund Region’s ICT cluster because these are important groups for the governments’ focus on creating growth in the region, says Micael Gustafsson, Managing Director of Øresund IT.

The closing conference hosted participatns from European incubators, cluster managers, policy makers and other stakeholders who help SMEs and start-ups.
