Posted: October 06, 2010
The Øresund Bridge Consortium, the company, which operates the Øresund Bridge, has signed a contract with SAS Institute A/S to build a future-oriented IT platform. The platform will enable faster and easier access to knowledge about the company’s customer relations, which is expected to increase the sales and improve service in the long run.

- It has been important for us to get an assembled platform where data processing, analysis, reporting and marketing are brought together in an integrated system. It has also been important that our partner has strong competences within both technology and business consultancy – explains Tonni Nielsen, IT manager of the Øresund Bridge.
During the first ten years of operating the Øresund Bridge the business has grown steadily. The purpose of investing in the advanced IT platform is to equip the company to the next ten years of development.
The Øresund Bridge possesses large amounts of data that is handled in many different systems. This data will now be collected in a data warehouse. Alongside the data warehouse, a business intelligence system (BI) that can analyze and report, based on data from the warehouse, will be build.
This gives the Øresund Bridge a consolidated and modernized IT platform with automated collection, analysis and presentation of the information, that support marketing as well as financial management. This new platform will form the basis for individualized customer communications and automated management information.
- The Øresund Bridge presents us an exciting job with this project, where we get the opportunity to establish a comprehensive and integrated system. A platform of this type will be crucial for an organization like the Øresund Bridge and we are looking forward to show how powerful the solution is – says Jim Nielsen, Director of Business of Advisory & Innovation in SAS Institute.
The implementation of the new IT platform will happen gradually over the next year. The working process starts now and will draw on both employees from the Øresund Bridge as well as specialists and consultants from SAS Institute.
