Charlotte Sahl-Madsen, the Danish Minister of Science, has selected 10 people to comprise a new Danish advisory board to guide and counsel on space prioritization within the Danish space industry.

"International collaboration on space initiatives gives Danish research environments and companies the opportunity to explore some unique topics within fundamental research", says the Minister of Science, Charlotte Sahl-Madsen.
"At the same time, space initiatives strengthen innovation and technological development within our high-tech companies. Both international space and satellite collaborations mean a number of benefits for the society, including optimized surveillance of the climate, better communication and more precise navigation", she continues.
"To pursue these benefits the government believes that Denmark should continue to participate in the international space collaboration. To ensure the scientific and professional foundation when deciding which space projects to prioritize I have appointed the members of a new space advisory board", says the Minister. Please see vtu.dk for the full list of the members.
The new advisory board is been established in a period with plenty of focus on the space and satellite industry and the European Union is also very keen to emphasize the significance of the area.
The EU's efforts to establish its own global satellite positioning system within the next 3-5 years is accompanied by the Galileo Masters satellite competition. The competition, which is co-hosted by Øresund IT and currently open, is intended to create awareness, support the space industry and not least to increase the number of applications being developed for the new EU Galileo system.
If you are interested in participating in the competition with an idea related to satellite positioning do not hesitate to contact us. For more information check Galileo Masters 2010 under our Projects on this website.
