Øresund IT member Scalado has signed new contracts with major Asian industry players in both South Korea and Japan that fuel expansion into new territory.
The leading developer of mobile imaging software for camera phones, Scalado, opened an operation in South Korea in April, 2007, providing both technical and business personnel to support the company’s growing portfolio of Asian handset manufactures in the region.
The new operation, based in Suwon- city, South Korea, provided technical expertise with engineers from Scalado’s HQ in Lund, Sweden, initially to support customers in South Korea but increasing to support other Asian customers in in the near future.
"The request for technical competence, fast turnaround and closer collaboration with customers to secure new product launches are important when developing high technology software products today”, says Mats Jacobson, CEO of Scalado.
“Scalado’s success can only be measured in how well our customers succeed as they strive to make the best imaging phones,” continued Mats Jacobson.
“The key to our success is working closely with our customers in development projects, and the new South Korean office will be a major factor in us achieving this,” he continues.
In Japan however, Scalado has now expanded a collaboration agreement with existing business partner Shikino. The Japanese company's customers have already been able to acquire and implement Scalado's SpeedTag technology for handling and rendering of images and other multimedia.
The new agreement however, opens up for a wider availability of Scalado's product portfolio to the Japanese market including potential new customers such as Sharp and NEC.
“Opening these new offices will enable us to continue to promote and integrate new products into our customers camera-phones, at a much faster pace and at a lower cost", Mats Jacobsen finishes.
