Research Festival to the Øresund Region
In the summer of 2014 Europe’s largest research event will take place in Copenhagen. This is the aim Denmark is working on and will in January send an application to ensure that around 5.000 researchers, businesses, companies and others can participate in the Euroscience Open Forum (ESOF) on Danish soil.

Copenhagen and the Øresund Region is a high profile knowledge region with many universities and large companies, which all can contribute positive to the research festival so that it will be a special experience, says Charlotte Sahl-Madsen the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation
With the motto "Science Building Bridges" the ESOF 2014 has research, education and innovation as the focal point. This will bring together leading and young researchers to create dialogue between researchers, business people, journalists, policy makers and the general public.
Since the ESOF for the first time took place in Stockholm in 2004, the event has grown in popularity and size. In Stockholm, some 1,800 persons attented, while there is expected approx. 5,000 participants in Dublin which is the host city for ESOF 2012. During ESOF there is a wide range of activities that can be divided into four categories - researcher to researcher, researcher to companies, the research career and the research dissemination to the general public, which will also make ESOF visible to the ordinary people.
The application to the ESOF 2014 will be delivered on 14 January 2011. The host city will be announced at the end of March 2011.
