When CEO of Øresund IT, Micael Gustafsson, recently was in Budapest to discuss international and cross-border cluster collaborations as well as meeting up with private companies, the Hungarians listened carefully.
For many years the US and Japan have been the two major actors on the international ICT scene and with China participating in the competition, the European countries are having a hard time being competitive.
With Øresund IT's position comprising regions from two countries, we are constantly gaining crucial experience useful for international cluster collaborations. Hence, Micael Gustafsson visited Budapest to uncover opportunities to establish a strategic collaboration with a possible Hungarian partner cluster.
The MMK cluster in Hungary is what Micael Gustafsson describes as one of the most promising Eastern European IT clusters. A strategic collaboration between Øresund IT and MMK could comprise both research collaborations, partnerships between private companies, public initiatives as well as mutual knowledge-sharing.
After the visit the Hungarians were very interested in possible private and public future collaborations on the basis of the potential strategic collaboration and Øresund IT's competences in this area. A leading Hungarian business journal published an article upon the visit presenting the ideas of Micael Gustafsson and discussing the future of MMK.
The result below is in Hungarian.
