Guiding small companies across Øresund

When it comes to integration and expansion across Øresund, small companies are lacking behind. A new initiative is set to help these companies overcome the barriers.
The project called Öresund Business Match, which is funded by EU amongst others, includes that two consultants are hired and placed on either side of Øresund. They will sit at the information centre Øresunddirekt, one placed in Copenhagen and one in Malmö.
The consultants should help answer companies questions on various topics, i.e. legislations, and help investigate market and business opportunities on the other side of Øresund.
"Most regional companies have their local markets around Copenhagen or Skåne and when considering to expand tend to expand nationally and we want them to also see crossing Øresund as an option," says Ulf Kyrling, project leader of Näringsliv Skåne.
"Furthermore it is intended that the two new consultants should keep their employment when the project ends in 2012. In previous projects competences and knowledge gained are often let go but we want to make sure that we keep and utilize both", says Ulf Kyrling.
