Autonomy for Øresund Science Region cluster organisations

From 2011, the Øresund University cooperation will be reoriented towards a stronger focus on education and student mobility. Øresund Environment, Øresund Food, Øresund IT and Øresund Logistics will become independent cluster organisations.

Øresund University will focus on coordination of education and student mobility. In the future, more of the work will be done by staff at the different universities. Their efforts will be coordinated by a small secretariat.

Some of the activities carried out by Øresund University today will be discontinued or transferred to other organisations:

• Øresund Greenhouse, the Øresund University project incubator, is a function that will become part of Lund University.
• Øresund Entrepreneurship has been a means to promote and finance entrepreneurship education. It will be discontinued.

Ongoing projects, run by Øresund University, will be transferred directly to their lead partner Lund University. They will not otherwise be affected.

Autonomy for Øresund Science Region cluster organisations

Today, the Øresund Science Region cluster organisations are part of Øresund University. In the new model, Øresund Environment, Øresund Food, Øresund IT and Øresund Logistics will operate as independent units administered by Lund University and Roskilde University. This opens up new opportunities when it comes to financing.

Ongoing projects run by the four cluster organisations will not be affected by the change in governance structure. They will be the responsibility of Øresund Environment, Øresund Food, Øresund IT and Øresund Logistics respectively.

With the separation of Øresund University and the four cluster organisations, the common brand name Øresund Org will no longer be used.
