American Qualcomm also opening in Lund

With both Qualcomm and Huawei opening offices in Lund the regional mobile business will be strengthened in regard of both collaboration and competition.

Qualcomm already has customers in our part of the world and after announcing their opening of offices in Lund they might attract several more.
With their well respected global position many smaller regional companies may very well be keen on various forms of collaboration with the mobile giant.

However, this also means that on top of the clear benefits from being located close to collaborating partner Sony Ericsson the two companies can actually end up in a competitive situation.

The offices are currently being prepared for the company in Edison Park but the company have not yet announced the number of employees that they are planning to recruit.

On a global scale the production company of semiconductors has around 16.000 employees and came out of 2009 with a turnover of more than USD 10 billion.
