Survey: The future is IT
A new survery conducted by Microsoft Denmark "IT og danskerne 2009" (IT and the Danes 2009) places IT on top of the priority list among Danish people. The survey has 1035 respondents and is considered representative for the Danish people.
The survey shows that Danes count on future's growth to come from the IT industry. IT is also considered the most innovative industry according to the Danish people. Furthermore, the Danes want the politicians to do more to strengthen IT skills of the people.
The current economic situation has opened the debate about what should help the future wellfare in Denmark. In this survey the Danish people point out three industries to ensure future growth: IT on first place with 75%, medical industry 73% and energy with 64%. Furthermore, 94% of the Danes think it is very important to the future growth that Denmar is a leading IT nation.

- According to Greens Konjunkturindikator IT is the only sector that currently experience growth, so it is important with a strong Danish IT industry.
In this light it is positive that the World Economic Forum has honored Denmark the past three years as the most IT-ready nation.
It is the intention that "IT og danskerne" will be a recurrent survey measuring the IT temperature of the Danes and focusing on topics that have set the news stage durring the past year. In 2009 the main focus has been digital bullying.
