Suggestion to establish a foundation for IT education
The new CEO of The Danish IT Industry Association (ITB) Morten Bangsgaard, has a very concrete new suggestion: An establishment of an educational foundation for IT of DKK 100 mil. to support and increase IT competences.
Already after one month in his new job, 38 years old Morten Bangsgaard says;
- We should have this educational foundation of DKK 100 mill. that universities can apply for to increase the students' IT competences.
Morten Bangsgaard has previously worked as general secretary for the Conservative party and he is hence close to the political world in the parliament of Denmark.
If the idea will be realized, time will tell. According to Morten Bangsgaard, the foundation would practically either manage payments on taximeter arrangement or allow the universities to apply for the money. He further suggests the money to come from the Globalization pool because it will increase the knowledge of IT amongst newly graduated students, he says.
Morten Bangsgaard explains that a competent IT workforce merely is one of several key conditions for the IT industry which ITB will work on improving.
