Sony Ericsson takes next step in environmental strategy
Sony Ericsson will in the future prioritize the environmental performance with their new Green Heart series, in order to reduce the company's CO2 emissions by 20 percent.
Sony Ericsson will try to reduce the company's CO2 emissions by 20 percent between 2009 and 2015. This is a long-term plan, but Sony Ericsson is determined to succeed and that it going to be very important to the company:
"Today we are going to show the next step in our environmental strategy, Green Heart series, with the the launch of two innovative new products, and a commitment to roll out these changes on a larger scale of the product portfolio in 2010 and 2011. This will result in a more sustainable business", says Sony Ericsson President Hideki Komiyama in a press release.
In addition, Sony Ericsson also reduces CO2 emissions with associated products, which is by among other things, to use electronic manuals, create smaller product boxes, chargers and energy-friendly recycled plastic. Sony Ericsson expects that it will be possible to reduce the CO2 emission in the life cycle of the phone with approximately 15 percent.
Sony Ericsson’s plan only apply to the Green Heart products this time around, but the manufacturer promises that their entire product portfolio will be covered by the new environment policy by the year 2015.
