Øresund IT potential World Class Cluster

During the annual cluster manager meeting at Intercluster 2009 in Brussels, Belgium, Øresund IT was presented as one of few clusters in Europe with the potential to make a focused effort to become a World Class Cluster

World Class Cluster is the definition within EU of clusters that are really able to compete with other equivalent clusters at other continents, for our ICT region i.e. in the United States and Asia. The keywords describing a World Class Cluster are critical mass, expansive region, state of the art research and collaboration between academia and business. In total, the Øresund ICT Region ranks exceptionally high in all of these fields, which means that the possibilities for the region to become a world-class player in this field are very good.

In all, people working with cluster development in Brussels are very impressed about how the ICT cluster in the Øresund Region has developed and its future possibilities. This means that Øresund IT will become one of the benchmarks for other European ICT clusters in the future.
