Living Labs Øresund delivers valuable knowledge

The project Living Labs Øresund has been a great success delivering interesting results within the field of user-driven innovation during the past two years. Now the project is near its end, but the living lab will still be active under Øresund IT during the upcoming years.

The main focus for the project has been to help the mobile industry to find new mobile services for students using living labs methods in order to increase the number of innovations that goes to the market. With help from different user groups (such as students and teenagers) we have discovered interesting things for the mobile industry. Did you for instance know that touch screens are too slow to be interesting for a teenager? When you send around 5.000 text messages every month, you are quite skilled in using the numerical pad and T9 to write fast. The touch screens of today are way too slow to attract this user group. This creates an awareness about selling propositions for mobile devices i.e. towards people under 20.

This is one of the many findings we have discovered during the project, and which has come to great value for the partners from industry. Another interesting part has been about how to work with user-driven methodology in the commercialization phase. A lot of experiments has been done, amongst them Innovation Circle which is a method to test ideas unusually fast.

Now the final reports for the project is in its progress and our ambition is to continue the work with Living Labs Øresund in the future. There are some project ideas on the board right now, as well as some international consorthias that have been created during the project time.
