Innovation Circle - bringing ideas to market
A large problem for the Scandinavian countries as well for the rest of Europe is the lack of knowledge in how to bring innovations faster to market. One obstacle is that we already in the idea stage do not have tools for evaluating ideas efficiently and to test them with potential customers. Innovation Circle contributes to a solution to this!
In the project Innovation Circle we will test if there are ways to increase the number of ideas that goes to market and also the quality of the ideas. The purpose with the project is not to create a large number of business plans; it is simply to help innovators take their ideas to a next level and see if it has a commerical value.
The heart of Innovation Circle is a webbased tool where you can get feedback on your idea from a business developer. Every idea gets a mentor who will help the innovator to increase the quality of the idea. When the idea is well defined you can test it towards potential customers and even towards venture capitalists. After ideas have been iterated you are hopefully prepared to pitch it towards an incubator or even towards some venture capitalists and then make a more solid business plan. This means that the Innovation Circle project will focus on what in innovation management is called 'the fuzzy front-end' of an innovation process.
Øresund IT has been working with the model of Innovation Circle during the summer and in early September we will do a proof-of-concept experiment. Around 30 ideas will be iterated within the process and the results will be examined by researchers from the University of Luleå. Finally we will present the results at an event in Stockholm on September 30.
