Danish top-politician wants to brand the Øresund Region
Frank Jensen from Socialdemokraterne in Copenhagen wishes streamline the branding of the Øresund Region in a common, international minded marketing organization.
Frank Jensen is up for the position as Mayor of Copenhagen if his party, Socialdemokraterne, wins the municipality election in mid November this year. A main focus of his is the need for a common marketing strategy for the Øresund Region. This would according to Frank Jensen encompass collaboration between the Danish and Swedish part of the region around conferences, because Copenhagen alone does not have the capacity to host the largest events.
An example is the up-coming Climate Conference in December where Denmark collaborates with the Swedish side of the Øresund Region regarding housing and transportation. Furthermore, Frank Jensen wishes and expects a common marketing strategy to help companies establish across the Sound.
Øresund IT is currently working on the three years BrandIT project with the purpose of branding the specific ICT cluster of the Øresund Region. This initiative reflects these political wishes and is of course a project with partners from both Sweden and Denmark, managed by Øresund IT.
