The food industry in the Øresund region is financially considerable, and production rests primarily with a multitude of small and medium enterprises, with the addition of a few larger companies. However, the food industry lack strength in innovation and spin-offs and spin-outs in terms of small growth companies. The representation of such companies is considerably lower compared to other innovative industries.
In order to promote growth in the region, we see that it is essential for the local industry to use and contribute knowledge, innovative frameworks that will enable entrepreneurship within this area. This project will aim to create conditions for successful knowledge sharing in combination with deliberate investments in functional foods and foods with added value, that will make the region more competitive.
