Software Configuration Management (SCM) is a set of techniques that helps you to manage changes to software such that you don't end up in chaos and problems.
In this lecture, we will look at SCM from the company's perspective. We will see how SCM provides techniques to improve the business values of a company's software production. How it can lead to faster development, better quality and greater reliability.
We also look at what the company needs from its developers in order to be able to obtain consistent quality in the product it delivers.
