Congratulations! You have finally managed to convince the head of your company that Subversion is a much better version control tool than CVS.
Your boss has now commissioned you to research the following:
  • how can we migrate our CVS repositories to svn?
  • does svn use strict or non-strict long transactions?
  • how can we use tags in svn for baselines and releases?
  • how does svn handle a maintenance branch that is merged back to MAIN several times?
  • (what advantages does svn have over CVS?)
  • (what drawbacks does svn have with respect to CVS?)

Write a short text where you report your findings to your head (Lars Bendix;-)
