Configuration Management - lecture 6b:
CM & PDM + CM & variants
Literature
- Asklund et al: Product Data Management and SCM - Similarities and Differences,
ch. 2 & 4.
Read quickly through the two chapters from this book to brush up on what SCM is
and to get and idea of what PDM is - and reflect on the potential consequences of the
similarities and differences between PDM and SCM.
- Axel Mahler: Variants: Keeping Things Together and Telling Them Apart.
Read this paper and appreciate that even though the abstract principle
is simple, variants in real life are rather complex beasts.
