Lab exercises week 2:
- Time: Friday 7/11, 8.15-10.00 or 10.15-12.00 (depending on which group you are in).
- Place: Computer lab "Varg" in the basement of the E-building.
- Note: some people with previous CVS experience may be able to get through the whole lab (parts 1 and
2) today - we have ideas for what you can/should do next Friday ;-)
Lab exercises this week will be an introduction to the tool CVS. We will get
the system up and running and try out some of its features for co-ordination
between developers.
We will also explore the support CVS gives for parallel development. We try out
the different possibilities for parallel development and how CVS handles them.
In particular we will investigate how merges are done and how to resolve merge
conflicts.
Next week we will continue to explore CVS and its possibilities
for supporting both the team and the individual developer.
