Mats Olin och Carl Wykman presents their master thesis work:
Evaluation of a Test Case and Test Execution Model for Dynamic Generation of Test Cases

Abstract:
The number of functions that are incorporated and used in mobile phones are
continuously increasing, creating new demands for mobile platform test
development and testing methods. To improve and facilitate testing and test
case derivation, a new patent filed model for test case generation and test
execution was developed. This model combines a modularized approach to test
cases with an ability to execute them simultaneously, stand alone or in
sequences.
This study presents a development of this patent filed model in aspects of
the automation of concurrency test case derivation through executing test
case in parallel. In order to conduct the study an implementation of a
prototype of the model was created. The prototype enabled an exploratory
investigation of the model for conducting actual tests on mobile platforms.
The results indicate that parallel execution of test cases can be used to
create concurrency test cases that more resemble the actual usage of the
mobile platform than a static execution of test cases permit. The study also
indicates that different strategies in implementing test cases affect the
level of automation achieved, in terms of their independency from each other
during parallel execution.
