Abstract:
Students are asking for more and more feedback - and teachers get less and less resources for running their courses. Students have problems in knowing how well they are doing during the course - and have to wait until the exam to know that. They are uncertain as to what might be irrelevant details and what is not. How can we make those ends meet? One way could be to start using the students as a resource to create a win-win situation.

Student Peer Assessment (SPA) is one such a way. Here students assess other students' work and provide useful feedback to these students. However, during the process of assessment and feedback also the assessing student learns a lot. So it really seems to be one of those rare win-win situations.

How does SPA work? How can a teacher set up SPA on a course? What do you (as the assessing student) have to do to get the most learning out of your assessment work? Is it possible for students to do SPA on their own even if it is not explicitly used on a course? These are some of the questions we will address during this seminar.
