Pedagogical philosophy

Learning takes place through the active behavior of the student: it is what he does that he learns, not what the teacher does.
Tyler, 1949.

"Teaching that is dominated by lectures is also dominated by the teacher and minimizes the students' possibilities to get involved and be part of the learning process".
Kristansen, 2008.

The above two quotes describe (in part) the pedagogical philosophy I have adapted for this course. If you are interested in pedagogy, I have written about eXtreme Teaching (XT) - and other stuff.

Learning is what happens in the interactive meeting between students and teacher (and students and students). Otherwise reading the course material would be sufficient.
Own reflection, during Covid-2020.

Reading the course book should never be an excuse for not going to lecture. Going to lecture should never be an excuse for not reading the course book.
Own reflection, 2014.
