What if - for some reason - I did not read the paper(s) for the discussion seminars?
Then you will probably get very little (or nothing) out of the discussions - and
the two hours might be better spent on reading the papers than showing up at the seminar.
So, for your own sake, try to schedule time for at least skimming through the papers
before the discussion seminars (and then many read some interesting parts
afterwards)!
