No - except for two cases: the first lecture to make sure that everyone signs up (or I can give empty places to waiting students); the oral exam (for obvious reasons)!
There are, however, mandatory hand-ins with fixed deadlines.

Even if presence is not mandatory, all aspects of the course have been carefully thought out and designed to help you learn as much as possible as efficiently as possible. Since I cannot cover all learning styles, a few of you might be better off without this help.

However, you should try to attend all exercises (best training for exam), the seminars (help with the difficult/advanced parts of the course), and the lectures (introduction and overview of various topics) in this order of priority - if you have to prioritise.
