IMPORTANT!

There is only a limited number of places on the course and the course is usually overbooked.

Students often book more courses than they will actually follow, so most probably some students will not show up for this course (what a pity for them;-). This means that there might be some empty slots that I can fill up even if the course is apparently fully booked.

If you have been accepted for the course

You will get an email shortly after the deadline for course registration saying that you have been accepted for the course. It is mandatory to reply to that email within one week confirming that you are interested in following the course.

It is also mandatory for all students who have confirmed their interest to show up at the first lecture and sign up to show that they want to follow the course actively.

If you do not confirm your interest and do not show up at the first lecture, I will assume that you do not want to follow the course and I will put another student in your place.

If you have not been accepted - or did not register in time

If you registered in time but was not accepted, you will get an email shortly after the deadline for course registration saying that you have been put on the waiting list. When accepted students drop out - or do not confirm their interest within one week - I will pick students from the waiting list to replace them. So within a week from the first email, you should know if there is a place for you on the course.

If you did not register in time, please send an email to me (bendix@cs.lth.se) and I will add you to the waiting list. Late registrations are accepted until Tuesday of the first course week.

Why?

The purpose of this apparently bureaucratic system is that there is a physical limit to how many students I can cram into exercise and lab rooms. And because I want to make sure that as many students will know as soon as possible if they can take the course or not - and so they can plan accordingly.

All that said, then last year all students that registered in time got into the course - together with a few that registered late.
